The Wedding

The wedding was amazing, just amazing. The morning was frantic, make-up everywhere. Pauline's (the bride) dress looked amazing though. A white silk slip-like dress underneath a dress made of organza with hand painted orange flowers on it. The shoes were irregular choice shoes, amazing. We got our hair's done in groups of two and the hairdresser was so nice and  chatty. Then the make-up was done.

The transport for the bride and bridesmaids were black taxis. The church ceremony was beautiful and smooth and had everyone in tears, I'll admit I almost cried. I had a tissue on my music stand just in case. I was so nervous before it started that i couldn't stop talking, Catherine thought I was going crazy. The singing and flute playing went smoothly, I was glad. Then after the church service we took photos on the steps and all the guests went on the bus tour which took them to the Titanic Quarter and then to the restaurant. The bridesmaids got their photos taken by their taxi and me and Catherine got some photos too. We got to go in the bridesmaids' taxi to the restaurant and when we arrived everyone kept saying "well done" and "you both look beautiful" etc etc. So I felt like a broken record saying thank you so many times.

The speeches were brilliant. Papa (father of the bride) said a few words, refusing to use the microphone. Then Andrew (the groom) said a list of thank yous and welcomes and me and Catherine got a thank you and I felt so proud! Then was the best man speech. It was brilliant, hilarious. He mentioned several embarrassing childhood memories he and Andrew share and he talked briefly about the difference between marriage and relationships. It was brilliant.

Then came the dinner. Also amazing! I got a haddock fish cake with tartar sauce for my starter, it was fantastic. Then steak and chips for main course, amazing. And then a chocolate and raspberry tart with ice cream for dessert, and now I feel hungry thinking about that all... The Deanes at Queens staff were so helpful. I chugged about 5 glasses of water before I even got my starter (I had a sore head) and there was always someone there to step in and refill my glass. But the best part of the night was the dancing. The first dance was brilliant, they dance to a really funky drum and bass tune. Then I managed to persuade Sophie and Catherine to join me on the dance floor and we didn't stop dancing for hours. Then we took a break and when we went to get back on the dance floor there was no one there but again I persuaded to girls to join me and we danced for hours! The buffet was then laid out and we got pizza and cake. The cake was made by my auntie Gabriel and it was amazing. I helped with a bit of decorating and I was proud to see it finished at last. It had a little lego bride and groom on top.

I had a lot of fun that night and it was just amazing! I enjoyed seeing family members I hadn't seen in ages.

A bit early for this, but hopefully we'll see you all at the baby's christening! XD

Halloween

I have finally decided on who I am going as for Halloween.
Harley Quinn.
And for those of you out there going "Who...?" read this before you continue, all you need to know right there.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley_Quinn

Anyway, the picture to the left is just one I found on google but it gave me a really good idea. I'm going to either find or make this costume and I'm even going to make the prison card she's holding to go with it. Isn't that brilliant? I can't wait! What are you dressing up as this year? I want to know all about it.

The Wedding

My auntie's wedding is on Friday. I'm playing the flute and my friend Catherine is singing and we had a practice in the church today.

I'M. FREAKING. OUT.

For the walk in and out we're playing/singing Oh Happy Day and for the middle where there's a register signing we are both doing solo's. Catherine's going to start with Joyful Joyful and I was originally supposed to play River Flows In You by Yiruma but when I did the practice today I instantly changed my mind. I can't do it. I can't. Even my auntie's friend (who used to play the flute) told me it was very difficult. So I said I didn't want to do it, that I didn't feel confident enough and my mum kept saying no, that if i kept practising it'd be perfect, but I only have tonight and tomorrow for goodness sake! So I've made up my mind. I had played Morning Has Broken and Annie's Song ages ago for my auntie and she thought they were brilliant (but I'd have to play them both because they're short) but then I thought of River Flows In You and I forgot about the other two songs. So yes, I'm going to play Morning Has Broken and Annie's song. My auntie is happy, I am happy. Done.
*Phew* I'm glad I got that out.

In case you want to hear the music I mentioned, here you go :)

Reviews.

I recently went to see two films in the same genre and age range but they were both rather different. I went with two friends to the first one and three friends to the second, these are my reviews.

SMURFS.
Ok I will admit after watching the first Smurfs movie I did get my hopes up thinking the sequel would be better. If anyone has seen both these movies you will know what I mean and may even feel the same. If you've only seen the first, well I advise you only go to see the second if you've got a small child with you or else you won't really have a reason to stay... The first film was bearable, it was new and a bit different. Everybody expected big things from this movie because the Smurfs has been a family favourite for many years but personally I don't like to go to a cinema with high hopes. I was right to do that this time. The prequel is pretty similar to the first so I may as well dive in on my review of that.
Ok so let's set the scene. Rather like in the first movie the story starts off with a shot of happy Smurf village and then the story takes a darker turn as you are told that the evil wizard Gargamel is up to no good, again. I won't go into details, I don't want to spoil it for you but I will say a few things.
THE CHEESE FACTOR.
Yes, we all love a little bit of cheesiness in a film, that one character that makes you cringe because they are so cheesy. Usually that is a minor character, but in this film everything is cheese... I'm not talking about cheddar or wensleydale, I'm talking about the acting throughout this whole movie. It was unbearable. Everything was overacted, everything was exaggerated, it was... there are no words. Every joke that was made was lingered on so much that it took the comedy out of it. The worst overacting in this movie came from Gargamel (Hank Azaria). The costume was so overdone, the big nose was too much. I thought Hank Azaria was rather good in Mystery Men and Night at the Museum 2 but this film was not good to him...
PREDICTABILITY
This film was also too predictable... There were a few surprises along the way so it wasn't as predictable as the first one but it was still predictable...

Overall it wasn't the best movie in the world... I know it's a kids movie but oh come on! You could make it a whole lot better! Please don't be offended by anything I say, I really do hope that you know that I speak here for no one but myself, these are my own opinions and I hope you only take this only as constructive criticism.

MONSTER'S UNIVERSITY
Now this movie, was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. It was funny, smart, different, unexpected. Brilliant.
ACTING
The voice acting in this film was brilliant. Not exaggerated, not cheesy.
PREDICTABILITY
It was a little predictable but not just as bad as Smurfs and it was easier to bear because it wasn't so cheesy.
SOME DETAILS
It was so good because the humour was quick and smart and the characters were all so different and you love every one of them. I think it is an excellent film for people of all ages. It is brilliant for children because it isn't rude or violent. It's brilliant for older people because it isn't so childish and cheesy that you can't sit through it all.
SETTING THE SCENE
A young Mike Wazowski dreams of being a scarer after an exciting school trip to Monsters Inc. He plans to make it to Monster's University, and when he does he finds himself in the same class as the top scarer James (Sully) Sullivan. Through disagreements they slowly grow to dislike each other until an interesting event which brings them to have to work together with their team. A brilliant family film with comedy and much more, a must see.

Introduction

I had to rewrite this because it was so... Hm. It just wasn't right. I'm going to explain what my blog is about. Most people have one specific thing they blog about; it might be film reviews or fashion or sport. My blog is just random I guess. I do some film reviews, but I generally blog about whatever comes into my head, and also the most exciting things that go on in my life. I use this almost as a diary, but I try to write it in a way that's more interesting for people to read.
A few things about myself;
I ramble a lot. So sometimes I'll put up a post for a few weeks, then I'll take it down and rewrite it because I realised it was too... Rambly.
I might fangirl excessively sometimes so just bear with me.
I am a bit crazy.
I am a huge fan of Welcome to Night Vale, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Skulduggery Pleasant and Marvel. Just to name a few things.

I hope you like what you read here, feel free to leave comments* on anything and just enjoy.

*I would like to get some feedback on how my writing is. I'm writing trying to write a book so it would be helpful.
