The Dark Knight

Yo! I have a bit more of a detailed movie review for you here today and it's for The Dark Knight.
Oddly enough I watched The Dark Knight Rises first, which I probably shouldn't have done. But anyway, I have a review and here it is.

THE DARK KNIGHT
If you like batman and action and explosions and good looking guys, then you will love this movie if you haven't already seen it.

The film starts off with a bank robbery carried out by the Joker and his mob. Batman and Lt. Gordon decide to work with Harvey Dent, the new district attorney, to catch the Joker and his gang. The Joker targets Dent at the fundraiser thrown by Bruce Wayne. Harvey Dent and Rachel Dawes (whom Dent is dating) go missing a while after this and Batman confronts the Joker about the whereabouts of his friends only to find that the Joker has turned it into a little "game". Then some explosions happen and it gets all emotional for two particular characters and stuff but I can't go into too much detail at this point, you'll just have to watch it because it's fantastic.
Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger as the Joker
Heath Ledger's performance as "The Joker" was outstanding. I thought, from seeing the Joker, that Heath Ledger was about 40, maybe 50 but I was surprised to learn he was only 27 or 28 when he was acting in that film. Watching one of his interviews he seems quite a quiet guy and his voice is nothing like the Joker's. He was a fantastic actor and I was really sad to learn that he died around the time of the end of the filming of The Dark Knight. His make-up in the film was fantastic, making him well disguised as his character should be. The acting was just amazing, the way he moved, how he used his voice, how he portrayed the characteristics of the Joker who is really a bit of a mentalist and if you watch the BBC's 21st century adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock, then you will probably know what I mean when I say that I think Batman and the Joker kind of resemble Sherlock and Moriarty in a way, personality wise.

More movie reviews... and Armie Hammer ;)

I've got more movie reviews for you! ...
This is the point where you jump and down and go "Yay!" and stuff.

So I went to see two films sort of recently so here are my reviews.

THE LONE RANGER
"Never take off the mask." - Tonto (Johnny Depp)

This movie was fantastic! I went to see it with my dad, we both thought it was brilliant.
So basically it's a sort of western type Disney film with lots of Indians and Americans and a new rail road and lot's of silver... I can't tell you much about that bit though ;)
Apparently the Americans don't like it all that much but don't believe a word of it, it's a brilliant movie, plus there's the fact that Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are in it. And Armie Hammer...
I fell in love with him after watching The Lone Ranger, he's very handsome...

But I have another review for you, before I start fangirling too much...

THE WAY WAY BACK
"It's like spring break for adults." - Susanna (Anna Sophia Robb)

This movie was really cool, a really good movie for summer. I especially liked it because I new how the main character felt because he's an awkward teenager and he doesn't fare well making friends. I walk into a room full of people I don't know and I find a free seat and I sit in it and wait for someone to say "Hi, can I sit with you?" So I identified with the main character really well.

It's about a fourteen year old boy Duncan who goes on holiday with his mum Pam and her boyfriend Trent and Trent's daughter Steph. They travel to Trent's holiday house meeting the eccentric next door neighbours and a few of Trent's friends.
But Duncan doesn't like Trent and he and Steph don't get along. Finding making new friends difficult and not knowing what to do with himself, he suddenly finds himself in an unusual friendship with the manager of a water park, Owen and many comical events follow.

It's a brilliant film, the perfect summer film.
