Meeting Derek Landy

When I saw that Derek Landy was doing a book signing in my country, I just had to go. It was on Saturday, and I met a friend there. We queued for two hours talking about... Everything. I remember we started talking about Supernatural and the Walking Dead and at one point we ended up talking about dogs and tinned fish. Don't even ask, I don't know how we ended up there. We had an interesting conversation while standing at the crime section, it mainly involved angels, demons and the unoriginal font that is used on the front cover of every crime novel. It was fun. Goody bags were handed out while we waited, and we got to browse some cool books, mugs and stuff, then we got to the top of the queue and I could barely contain myself. I walked up to the desk and Derek said hi, and that he really loved my skull scarf. When I told him I wore it especially for the book signing he gave me a fist bump.
I was getting two books signed; the first book of the series and the third one. The third one was actually the first one that I bought and read. My copy of the first book was a bit... "well read" as Derek put it. When he asked me if I had any questions, I just mind blanked and said no. Of course it was after we left that I thought of all the awesome questions I could have asked him. Damn.
Then we posed for a photo.

This was what we got in our goody bags
Derek tweeted yesterday that he had been signing in my country for 5 hours. I think we hold the record for having the longest book signing yet. It's only really because he takes time to chat to people properly and listen to all their questions, and that's wonderful. So the queue was slow and long, but it was worth the wait.

My Ice Bucket Challenge

Recently I did my ice bucket challenge with my cousins. We dressed in blue for it to help raise awareness for Pulmonary Fibrosis. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a horrible lung condition and it killed my nanny this month last year. It is a horrible illness, and unfortunately there is no cure for it. Yet. With the help of your donations a cure can be found. To donate to IPFA, text ipfa47 to 70070.
