Donegal was fantastic. We went to the beach, splashed in the water, climbed the rocks and searched the cave. On my birthday we went shopping at Letterkenny and went to Glenveagh National Park which was the most amazingly beautiful place I have ever been to. I had a Batman cake which was awesome.
I got some great presents; a Batman onesie, a box of Lush products, chocolates, a nice notebook (which I plan on using for all my story ideas and drafts) and some jelly sandals. Also I got an Eason giftcard and an itunes giftcard. I'm spoiled rotten...
I got back on Tuesday and went to stay with my daddy. We had chocolate cake and I had a lemon and cherry (non-alcoholic) cocktail. On Wednesday we went to Nandos for lunch.
On Thursday I then invited my friends over for dinner and a sleepover. We had mini pizzas and watched films while making loom bands. We ended up staying awake until 3am on Friday playing Harry Potter on the wii while having a "who can make the most realistic farting noise" competition. It's safe to say we know how to party hard.
You really should go to Glenveagh National Park if you get the chance, it is fantastic.

I had a brilliant birthday. I'm so glad I got to celebrate it in such a beautiful place :)

Who am I?
I'm heading to Donegal today and so I won't have access to wifi until I get back home. Really the only thing I will be able to use my phone for is taking photos or playing games. The weather is awesome (well other people see it as terrible) here. It's been raining for most of the day and I love that. So it will probably be just as bad, if not worse, in Donegal. *fingers crossed* We head out this evening and will be back on Tuesday evening. That's about three days without wifi. Hm.
Also my birthday is pretty soon, and you never have to fear about forgetting your own birthday do you? Friends and family members will always remind you, because when it's about two weeks before your birthday you'll get bombarded with questions like, "what do you need/what kind of things do you like/what do you want?" These questions are so simple but they really make you think, don't they? I always get hit with this overwhelming feeling of 'I don't know who I am... I don't know what I like...' and it's weird. The one time of year when people are offering to buy you stuff and you can't think of one thing that you would like. You don't really want to say "surprise me" because not all surprises are nice... In the end I've settled on practical things, the main one being an electric toothbrush. I will be spending my birthday in Donegal which will be very nice. If anything weird or wonderful happens while I'm there you'll be sure to hear about it. Goodbye internet...

Summer oh my god it's finally here...
Summer is here! I couldn't be more pleased to see the end of the school year. Our last day was yesterday and we didn't really do anything special in class. We had an end of year assembly that was meant to be inspiring but was just the usual "you need to believe in yourself for stuff to happen" and then we sat in class for 3 hours. Me and two friends spent most of the time stuffing our faces with popcorn while trying to hear the film we were watching because the speakers wouldn't turn up any louder. So that was fun. Then me and Irene and Catherine went to Nandos. Nothing tastes better than your first summer meal, let me tell you that. After that we went to see The Fault In Our Stars. We met some more friends at the cinema, sat with them and then we all cried together. It was the saddest film I have ever seen... It dredged up some bad memories and I really wish we hadn't chosen to go see it on our last day of school... It is more sad than Up and Marley and Me put together so just be prepared for that if you do choose to go see it. But thankfully the day didn't end entirely on a depressing note; my mum took me and Irene to a barbecue takeaway and we sat in the park eating our burgers and chips watching people walk their dogs. Irene is afraid of dogs so it was quite funny watching her react to them until it got to much for her and we moved elsewhere in the park. In the evening the park looks really nice. I prefer sitting out in the cold so it was prefect.
Today was my first full day off. I thought I would have a massive lie in but I got up at about 8.30. I was hungry so I kinda had to get up... I ended up watching two episodes of the Mentalist and then I tidied my room while watching The Dark Knight, which was shocking. I never tidy my room, especially not on my first day off. Though after tidying my room I didn't really know what to do with myself so I watched another episode of the Mentalist. If I've already run out of ideas for what to do on day one what am I gonna do for the next 8 weeks?

The Void
Three of my favourite TV programs finished recently and I'm very distraught because it leaves me with a lot of free time that I'm not used to having and it's come at the worst time because I have no homework or revision to do.
These three programs kept my week interesting; The Tomorrow People, Person of Interest and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Tomorrow People has finished forever after only one series with a cliffhanger that they have no intentions of rescuing us from and the other two are only finished for the series. But I find myself counting down the days until the new series of Doctor Who and the release of The Dying of the Light. With two months until either I've got 2 and onward of The Mentalist to keep me going, but let's see how long it takes me to watch all of those episodes. So I'm on two temporary hiatuses now and one permanent one... Nice.
And series 4 of Sherlock won't be on TV until 2016. How very disappointing.
I'm just going to rant about all the hiatuses I'm on...
The Dying of the Light comes out on 28th of August and once we finish reading it the whole of the Skulduggery Pleasant fandom goes on a permanent hiatus... I shudder at the thought. But, to keep me going until then, the collection of short Skulduggery stories (Armageddon Outta Here) is released in July so I'd better finish the current book I'm on so I can start the new book straight away...
I guess all I need to do now is watch The Mentalist for two weeks...

Talk words to me
I recently discovered that I have a love for the Australian accent. I don't know where this came from really. In the past it was an accent I wouldn't have thought twice about, it was just an accent that reminded me of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! But now? I don't know. It was at the Giro D'italia that I first noticed it. One of the guys helping out had come over to ask us to just keep back so we wouldn't get hit by the cyclists. He had an Australian accent, and I found myself gawking after him wanting to hear him speak again. It was weird. It just caught me unaware and it was stupid but I was thinking about it for days after. You know that nagging feeling you get when you sing a song but you can't remember what it's called or who sings it? Or you go around all day repeating a line from a film but you can't remember what film it's from, and you begin to doubt if it was even from a film because, you know, you might have made it up? I got that feeling, for ages, and it just followed me around like a bad smell for days. I know it's weird, over an accent, right? Pfft, why should I have cared. But there was this feeling that there was something a lot bigger behind it. It hit me when I was watching Mock The Week one day.
I have a crush on an Australian comedian. I mean, a huge crush. It just crept up on me so slowly...
His name is Adam Hills, I don't know if you've seen any of his shows but I watched some of them online and I find him really funny.
This is him, in case you don't know him. I love his accent, I could just listen to him talking all day long.
I also really like Richard Roxburgh. He's an Australian actor. He's been in a Hound of the Baskervilles film, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and quite a lot more. I didn't realise he was Australian because I'd only ever seen him play British characters, but when I heard his natural accent somehow it made me love him even more... Strange.

Update
ESMÉ
I have a new baby cousin.
Her name is Esmé and she was born on 8th May so she shares her birthday with my friend. I was actually at the cinema for my friend's party when I got a text to say Esmé was born. She is the cutest thing ever; she's just like a doll! I love seeing all the baby clothes and toys, they're so cute and everything is so small and just adorable. I can't wait until she gets older and I can help her with her homework and give her advice on what to wear. I will probably need to carry out some babysitting duties, but that'd be cool. I've never babysat by myself before. I look forward to seeing Esmé grow up.
MALEFICENT
I went to see Maleficent for my friend's birthday, and I was bitterly disappointed. I was really looking forward to it, it looked like it was going to be fantastic. It wasn't the best... The acting was cringeworthy the whole way through. I think it was really more for kids, but even at that it should be enjoyable for everyone. If you don't know what it's about it's just a modernisation of the story of Sleeping Beauty but with a bit of a twist.
I couldn't get over how sharp they made Angelina Jolie's cheekbones look. They were sharper than Benedict Cumberbatch's. She looked like she had no cheeks at all...
After the cinema we went to Cosmo. Cosmo is a buffet restaurant with food from all over the world. Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Eastern European and more. It was amazing, I have never eaten so much in all my life! The sushi was amazing. I highly recommend that you go there.
EXAM RESULTS
The exams are all finished and I couldn't be more glad. We now have just over 2 weeks left until summer. Finally!! Slowly but surely we've been getting our results back. So far I think I've got all As, I'm just waiting on the geography grade boundaries and my art percentage. I have to wait until Friday to get my art mark back and we might not even get it then. The anticipation is killing me...

Tick Tock
I had my first three exams today and they were pretty easy. I'm quite happy so far. We had English, H.E and French. Not to toot my own flute here, but those are three subjects I was feeling fairly confident in anyway so I had put it all down to good revision. When we finished I met up with my friend and the first thing she said was,"So what did you think of the French paper?" I didn't want to say that I had found it ridiculously easy, I hate sounding boastful. Turns out though, it wasn't just me that felt that way. That paper was beyond ridiculously easy. We had an hour to complete it and it took most of us 20 minutes to half an hour to do that. It took me 20 minutes. Every single year I rush my way through test papers only to be left with half an hour to spare, and I never learn. The waiting kills me every time. It's not really something you can get used to - waiting. The annoying thing is there's really nothing you can do. You can't walk around for obvious reasons - cheating - and you can barely even look around for that same reason. My seat is right in front of the invigilator's desk so I have to sit rooted to the spot, eyes glued to my paper. I don't think I'm gonna survive until Wednesday, I swear you'll find me at home tomorrow evening just rocking backwards and forwards on the floor clutching my revision notes. You see, when I'm in that position and I've already checked over my paper 20 times and clicked my pen open and closed 5,000 times more I need something else to keep my mind occupied. Every year it's the same; when the invigilator says there are 15 minutes to go, that's when I start counting. I count the seconds until the 15 minutes are up. That's the reason I don't think I'll make it to Wednesday. That's the reason I'll be rocking backwards and forwards on my floor by tomorrow evening.
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.

Exams
It's the same every year really; you plan to start studying early every year but end up leaving it to the last week. Well, it's that time of year again. I don't know how it may work in your school but we have two sets of exams a year - one in the first term (winter) and one in the last term (summer). It's two days to my summer exams and it still hasn't quite hit me yet. I'm quite blasé when it comes to exams, right up to the night before the first one which is usually when I start freaking out and burying my face in mountains of textbooks. I think that's the only reason I get As, because I'm quite good at speed revising just before a test. I would like to think I have good common sense when it comes to answering some questions but I'm not so sure... But this year I'm doing it right. I actually have done a fair bit of revision so I feel a little more confident. I just want to put it out there that no matter how confident you are with how much revision you can do in one night, you are usually wrong.
I think this is a fair way to sum up exam periods...

Coffee cannot fix this kind of tired
So our car did a thing. A bad thing. One day it just started chugging like it was in the wrong gear, but obviously it wasn't in the wrong gear. We had to keep starting and stopping it to get it up the road. We eventually figured out that every time water was put in the car it leaked back out. It was taken to be fixed and we found out that the radiator had blown. So basically we now have no car until it gets fixed. We live so far away from anyone we know so it's not like we can ask for a lift anywhere, we have to take a 40 minute walk at 7 every morning to get to the train station so we can get to work and school. But somehow with all that exercise I'm still not a size 0. It's not like I want to be a size 0 or anything... But doing all that walking and going on all that public transport everyday lets you see different parts of life you don't see when you're in a car. And, it's nice. And there's no traffic. But the bad thing about getting the train is that if we miss our train that's it, I'm gonna be late. There's only one train that gets me in on perfect time and it's a struggle to get to the station on time. It puts it into perspective how much people rely on cars and particularly how far away we live from ANYWHERE! So a word to the wise, when you're buying a place to live, take into account that you may need to be able to get by without a car at some point in time.

Detergent. I mean, uh... Divergent
I went to see Divergent a while ago, so I'm going to do what I usually do when I run out of things to blog about and I'm going to review it.
Woops. I guess my fingers slipped...
There. This was an alright film. It isn't really anything new. It's all cliché and predictable. My favourite thing about this film is the soundtrack. The soundtrack is great. But onto the storyline. Basically there was this big war and a wall was built around the surviving part of the world for protection and people were placed into factions (groups really) based on their skills/personalities. I think it's when they reach a certain age people are tested to see which faction they truly belong in and then they get to choose one to be in for the rest of their lives. The test is only for guidance but they can choose any faction. Our main female protagonist, Tris, gets tested and learns she's Divergent which means her results were inconclusive so really she has an element of every faction in her. Divergents aren't liked people and are usually killed so it's really all about her surviving as a Divergent in her new faction and blah blah blah. Some dramatic stuff happens, there's lots of predictable outcomes, the soundtrack continued to be great and now we're waiting for the second movie. Really I got bored after about 20 minutes. It's not my kind of film. Divergent and Twilight were both done by Summit Entertainment. Is it a coincidence both films are terrible? I think not.
